CorrectorAi

Privacy Policy

Effective date: March 31, 2026

1. Operator and Scope

CorrectorAi is operated by Umber Lab Limited ("Umber Lab", "we", "our", or "us"). This Privacy Policy applies to the CorrectorAi Android application, the related account deletion workflow, and associated support and backend services made available in connection with the app.

This Privacy Policy describes the categories of information processed in connection with the app, the purposes for which that information is used, the third-party service providers involved in delivering the app, the retention and deletion framework that applies to account-linked data, and the means by which users may contact us regarding privacy matters.

2. Categories of Data We Process

We may process account and profile information, including email address, user ID, display name, birth year, nationality, selected avatar, app language, selected practice languages, learning purpose, speaking level, theme settings, and related account or preference information entered or maintained by the user.

We may process practice and learning data, including prompts, answers, text transcripts, corrections, pronunciation-related text output, conversation history, usage counters, and other information necessary to provide personalized language-practice features.

We may process subscription and transaction-related status information, including product identifiers, entitlement state, subscription state, and purchase-status information supplied through Google Play Billing and RevenueCat. We do not receive or store full payment card numbers in our own backend systems.

We may process app interaction, diagnostic, and technical information, including crash logs, performance diagnostics, app interaction events, installation-related identifiers, and similar telemetry generated through the third-party services integrated into the app.

The app requests microphone access for speech-recognition functionality. CorrectorAi does not state that raw audio recordings are stored in its own backend as part of normal product operation. Speech recognition may be performed by the device, operating system, or platform speech-recognition service, and depending on device or provider behavior, audio may be transmitted to that service provider for recognition processing.

3. Sources of Data

We receive information directly from users when they create an account, sign in, complete onboarding, use speaking or practice features, request support, manage subscriptions, or submit an account-deletion request.

We also receive information automatically from the app, the device or operating system, Google Play services, Firebase services, RevenueCat, Supabase services, and our managed backend workflows used to support authentication, account management, analytics, diagnostics, and AI-assisted language feedback.

4. Purposes of Processing

We process data as reasonably necessary to provide, operate, secure, maintain, personalize, and improve CorrectorAi. This includes account creation and authentication, profile synchronization, language-learning personalization, subscription management, product analytics, diagnostics, fraud prevention, abuse prevention, dispute handling, legal compliance, and execution of account-deletion workflows.

5. Third-Party Services and Processing Relationships

Supabase is used for backend account, authentication, database, and function operations and may process account, profile, synced settings, and account-deletion workflow data associated with app operation.

Google Firebase Analytics may process app interaction and usage analytics data generated through app events and usage telemetry.

Google Firebase Crashlytics may process crash logs and related technical failure information used to detect, investigate, and remediate app stability issues.

Google Firebase Performance Monitoring may process diagnostics and performance-related telemetry used to monitor application responsiveness and technical performance.

Google Play Billing and RevenueCat may process purchase status, entitlement state, subscription identifiers, and related transaction metadata required to activate, manage, validate, or restore subscription-based features.

Our managed backend functions and related AI-processing providers may process prompts, answers, transcripts, corrections, conversation text, and related text inputs and outputs to generate AI-assisted language feedback and app functionality.

These service providers and platforms may process relevant data on our behalf, in support of the app's functionality, or as part of the platform services used to operate the app.

6. Audio and Speech Recognition Disclosure

The app uses microphone access to support speech-recognition-based features. The app may use the device or platform speech-recognition stack to convert spoken input into text for product functionality.

CorrectorAi does not represent that all recognition occurs exclusively on-device. Depending on device configuration, network availability, and the speech-recognition service in use, spoken input may be processed by the applicable device, operating system, or platform provider. Use of those speech-recognition services may also be subject to that provider's own privacy terms, platform rules, and technical behavior.

7. Billing and Subscription Disclosure

Paid features are made available through Google Play Billing and managed through RevenueCat. Subscription activation, entitlement validation, restoration, billing events, and related purchase-state processing may therefore involve Google Play and RevenueCat systems. Refunds, renewals, cancellations, and billing treatment remain subject to the applicable Google Play rules, policies, and user account settings.

8. Data Sharing and Sale Statement

We do not state that personal and sensitive user data is sold by CorrectorAi. We disclose data to third-party service providers and platforms only to the extent reasonably necessary to operate, secure, maintain, analyze, improve, bill for, or lawfully administer the app and related services.

9. Storage, Security, and Backups

Data transmitted from the app to our backend systems or service providers is intended to be transmitted over encrypted network connections. The Android app disables Android cloud backup and device-transfer backup for app data.

The app also stores certain information locally on the device using Room and Preferences DataStore. The current Android app does not represent that local Room storage or Preferences DataStore storage is encrypted by default.

No security safeguard can guarantee absolute security, and users should understand that all networked services involve some degree of residual risk.

10. Retention

Account-linked data may be retained for so long as the relevant account remains active and such retention remains reasonably necessary for service delivery, support, analytics, diagnostics, subscription management, fraud prevention, or legitimate business and compliance purposes.

Where a deletion request is submitted from an authenticated in-app session, the account may enter a 30-day grace period before permanent deletion processing is completed. Users who cannot access the app may contact support for manual assistance. Certain limited records may be retained after deletion where reasonably required for security, fraud prevention, abuse investigation, billing reconciliation, dispute handling, legal compliance, or enforcement of our terms.

11. Account and Data Deletion

Users may request account deletion from within the signed-in Android app. The web account-deletion page at https://correctorai.umberlab.com/account-delete provides instructions and support contact information for users who cannot access the app.

Deletion requests submitted from an authenticated in-app session may be initiated from the signed-in account context. Once accepted, deletion is scheduled after a 30-day grace period. During or after that process, limited information may remain retained where reasonably necessary for lawful, security-related, billing-related, dispute-related, or compliance-related purposes.

Certain information may also remain stored locally on the user's device until the user clears app data or uninstalls the app.

12. Children's Privacy

CorrectorAi is not intended for children under 13. If we become aware that personal data has been submitted in violation of this limitation, we may take reasonable steps to delete or restrict the affected account or information as appropriate.

13. International Processing

Because the app relies on third-party platforms and service providers, information may be processed in jurisdictions other than the user's country of residence, subject to the infrastructure, services, and operational arrangements used by those providers and by Umber Lab Limited.

14. Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect operational, legal, technical, or product changes. Updated versions may be published through the website or app-related materials, and continued use of the app after such updates may be treated as acceptance of the revised policy to the extent permitted by applicable law.
